Fiber-optic lighting has really come a long way from its initial tacky roots. This incredible pendant lamp/chandelier was created by Jakob Staer of the German lighting maker Refer + Staer. The Black Fiber lamp uses hundreds of tiny fiber-optic strands to light up your space.
Black Fiber Pendant Lamp: A Retro-Styled Fiber-Optic Chandelier
Using a great chandelier/pendant lamp as a center-piece in a living area or a dining area is a really great way of decorating it. Just like a tie makes a suit, a great lamp will make a great room. Illumination is key when you are thinking about sprucing-up rooms.
Black Fiber lamps are available in two sizes from Swedish design house PID. The medium size is 21.7" in diameter and the large size is 35.4" in diameter. The light fixtures can also come with an additional 20W halogen bulb in the center to provide even more illumination. Prices range from $2800 to $3800.
