Essential Tufted Wall Dimmers

3-12-ifm5.jpg

Spotted at the Arch Digest show this past weekend, these fuzzy little wall dimmers offer a way to bling up the least likely of spaces: the light switch. Swap out the regular switch for a Lutron sensor dimmer and these sensor covers and shazaam! All the various tactile ways of touching the plush fabric will control the lights...

Designed by Maggie Orth and Sam Bittman and handmade in Seattle from wool felt, conductive yarns, neoprene and acrylic, we had a fun time rubbing the fuzzy surface and watching the lights go up and down. $99 for complete dimmer and cover kit from International Fashion Machines.

I love the idea, but worry about the germ factor...no way to really sanatize these guys..but they sure do look cooler than a plastic plate.
