Reminds me of a light bulb on a stick, but is definitely a much more stylish way of finding your way around should the power happen to go out in your space. What do you think?

Yes, it's rather phallic. I'm also not sure how well the light would focus given the way the bulb is exposed in a rounded fashion. It may be a bit too omnidirectional to function well.
