Joby Gorillatorch Has Magentic Personality

100209Jobygorillatorch1.jpgWith it's three legs and LED light bulb top, there's something alien invader-ish about the Joby Gorillatorch. But this small tripod light is here to help, not hinder, with flexible legs and magnetic feet that helps illuminate any situation...

Joby Gorillatorch is the sort of accessory you don't really think about until an emergency arrives. You're snaking HDMI wires underneath the house and you need a lighting source you can position/reposition easier than a flashlight. You're grilling at night and there's no close-by illumination. You're repairing plumbing under the sink and need a spotlight to shine onto the problem. In all these cases, the Joby Gorillatorch is a handy partner.

100209Jobygorillatorch3.jpgThe Joby Gorillatorch offers a 65 lumen ultra bright CREE LED lamp with adjustable brightness, and a water resistant form which makes it ideal for outdoor and indoor use. Powered by 3 AA batteries, the light can last anywhere from 100 hours to 20 hours at max brightness. If anything, the Gorilla Torch is just fun sticking onto metal objects; it's not a toy, but we'd think it wouldn't make a half-bad stocking stuffer considering its form and useful light. We're going to definitely take it on our camping trips and in the car for extended road trips, since it's small and lightweight. Get your own for $29.95 at the Joby website.

i understand the usefulness of the magnetic feet, but do you think the magnets easily removable? does anyone own one and would like to chime in?

i'd like to buy one, but as a gal with a pacemaker, the super strong magnets concern me.

rasabasa123: I just checked and verified you can pop out the magnetic feet ends and just use the rest to wrap around surfaces.
