The Lightpot: Mixing Lighting With Plants

031909_rg_lightpot_01.jpgPeople tend to want plants. They are a nice addition to any apartment. But what if you want to keep a small herb garden inside? Most apartments will have some kind of lighting issue that makes these gardens or pots trouble. I know that in our place, plants wither and die, but that might be the people living in the place, not the plants themselves! Anyway, we thought that the Lightpot would be a great way to keep your plants well lit.

031909_rg_lightpot_02.jpgDesigners Kfir Schwalb and Orit Magia of Studio Shulab came up with their Lightpot concept. It's a small pot that can be used to grow plants and herbs indoors. The pot uses LED lighting to make sure that the plants are well lit. Plus, you can use the lamp on your desk. The whole thing collapses as well, so that the the light doesn't bother you when you want darkness.

I really like this concept. It's simple and effective. It will work well for people wanting to keep an herb garden longer than a month. The pot will most likely fill an apartment with subtle good-smelling odors. The lamp looks pretty minimal, so it would work well in most apartments. Lightpot comes in white and a dark shade of brown.
