We've all read the reports saying that iPods are tough. But how tough is that, exactly? Well, tough enough to survive being crushed by a pickup truck! Incredibly, this iPod Touch is still alive and actually works.

A working screen was even included. The shattered screen might not be good for your fingers, but it looks genuine. It makes you think about how tough these little gadgets really are. What does it take to kill an iPod?

a wash cycle... Thats how my stupid nano died

My iPhone 3G currently looks much like the one pictured above. One "oooops" on a kitchen floor tiled in green slate - followed by a crack that brought a roomful of people to silence - was more than enough to do great damage to the glass front of the phone; but, the phone worked - and continues to work to this day.
Unfortunately, Apple does not replace the glass if it cracks or gets broken (there are third party solutions, I understand) but insists on replacing the entire phone - and not at a discount.
On the brighter side, it does garner a lot of sympathetic mewing from even strangers when they notice the spider web of cracks in the glass and is a great ice-breaker.

My Nano survived the washing machine and still plays. The screen has some water damage so it is difficult to read, but it still plays.
