Do you know what a chafing dish is? Those big metal covered containers with a flame underneath that you usually see at the hotel breakfast buffet to keep your food warm? Well, the +/- concept hot plate isn't a chafing dish, but instead of keeping a big batch of eggs warm it keeps your own meal warm through a combination of silk screened gold and ceramics. +/- Hot Plate: Plug in and Keep Your Dinner Warm
Think rear windshield defroster on your car. Plug in the plate and the decorative lines become functional and keep your food warm. A concept designed for the Dining in 2015 competition, one thing that would make this even better is getting rid of the electrical cord on the plate altogether. Inductive charging place mat anyone?

I think it uses inductive charging... the demo they have is of a kitchen suite with appliances taking power wirelessly (and through water!)
