As you already know, October marks a time when Apartment Therapy looks for the most colorful room on the planet with our 2009 Room for Color contest. Here at Unplggd we've been rounding up gadgets in every color of the rainbow, but it's easy to forget that some of the more bland hues -- white, black, beige, and grey -- can be just as arresting as the rest of the color spectrum. Just what is that monitor usually hooked up to? If it's the laptop, then where are the wires / base station? and why is the monitor set six inches off to the side? On the other hand, if there's a seperate desktop, then where's the keyboard? where would that keyboard even go, considering the mouse mat would just get in the way? Also: two dozen pens, and not a scrap of paper anywhere? no power cord for the laptop?
Yet another over-staged, impractical "workspace". Nice lamp, though. I bought one yesterday.

confused on what is inspiring, it looks very bland and empty

I agree... I am baffled by the "inspiring" headline. Sure, it's cool he mixed a few different paints together to get a nice shade of gray, but this whole space is pretty lackluster...

I really like that colour but I agree that there isn't much about this picture that is "inspiring". It's definitely not a real-world work space and the wall decor doesn't work but I do love the colour of the wall.

This is about as "inspiring" as a strip mall. And the paint, while indeed cool and modern, is almost exactly the same as the wall I'm staring at right now. There are magical lands called [generic big box supercorp home improvement store] with whole walls of paint swatches!!
