You see, this alarm clock can download the ringtones stored on a cellphone using an infrared data exchange system (which they've named "muPass") to use as your morning alarm sound. I can hardly stand the sound of cell phones while awake, let alone put up with an annoying chime or song first thing in the morning. So this device would indeed succeed in waking me up, but also result in a small pile of broken electronic and mechanical parts. Fortunately, for now, this is a Japan-only device, but a definite indicator of what is around the corner in home and wireless integration. [via Wireless World Japan]
