Keep that profile high while keepin' your receivers and other electronics low - that seems to be the newest trend going around. Though we would probably see some ghastly expressions when some audiophiles see some great bookshelf speakers sitting underneath a cabinet...
Getting Urban Chic with Electronics on the Floor
Above is another example of this extreme modern grunge look. While stunning in design, we can't imagine anything good coming out of this. Poor speaker... and our backs hurt just thinking about the difficulty of having to change any settings on our receivers at that height. Thank goodness for universal remote controls!

On the floor is a great way to choke your electronics. Gadgets do not belong low to the ground. The suck up all kinds of dust and debris as well as they are prone to kicks (accidental and non), spills and floods (god forbid). Keep your gadgets high folks... they will thank you for it.
