apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Justin's Office in a Closet

032009IMGP2889.jpgUnplggd reader, Justin Esgar, sent in his efficiently organized home office squeezed inside the small confines of his apartment closet:

Dear Unplggd, I live in a NYC Studio apartment on the Upper East side. I was able to make a walk-in closet into my home office. Being an Apple Consultant from home, I needed the space. With some new wiring, and help from the Container store I was able to build this office...

032009IMGP2888.jpgThe closet came with 1 bulb on a pull string. I installed track lighting, an on/off switch and a 2 port outlet. From there I bought a custom built set from the Container Store (elka I believe). They helped lay out the entire plan and it was very easy to install. A few Apple-centric pieces of art and now I have a new office! Hope you guys like it. -Justin

Justin, we don't like it...we love it. We remember having to do something similar while living in a tiny-spaced studio apartment in San Francisco, where the walk-in closet was almost as large as our living space. Your office is a great inspiration for anyone looking to convert a small space into a large opportunity for workspace. Thanks for sharing!

Container store "elfa" system. Cool use of small space.

Great setup! I have the same elfa desk system and love it.

One question: Where can I find the "Please Stand By" desktop wallpaper??
