Look: A DIY Secret Screen

The creative minds at my husband's office decided that a plain old screen for their projection system would just not be nearly interesting (or humorous) enough, so they hacked together this Bruce Wayne mansion-worthy piece for their conference room. To see it in action, look below the jump...

The painting rises, as if by magic, with the flip of a simple lightswitch. The buffalo art (using the term loosely here) was created by sending an image file to a large format vinyl printing house. It was then rolled onto a simple pulley system, which when activated, raises the image to reveal the screen.

The gigantic frame was ordered somewhere on the internet (sorry, my husband can't remember...he suggested that it might have been gaudyframes.com) and built out from the wall to hide the DIY mechanics.

And, if the whole set-up isn't enough of an ice-breaker with new clients they can always have them search for the hidden Elvis pix that they photoshopped onto the buffalo...

I'm kind of surprised they did it so that the printed screen rolls up, instead of having a white screen come down--seems you'd have a lot more options that way.
