Look: Asymmetrical Modern Television Stands

As general human preference dictates, the aesthetic eyes tends to gravitate toward symmetry, whether it is number of chairs on each side of a table, a model's facial features, or the positioning of items upon a wall. But it is the careful use of asymmetrical forms and placement that can create the most interesting of visual of impressions. Though this might have been more evident when discussing Cindy Crawford or Marilyn Monroe's mole, we never gave it much thought in regards to home theater TV stands until we saw these two examples...

Paolo Cattelan's Dolce Vita adjustable TV steel stand for Cattelan Italia allows for a range of height placement for displays of up to 32", while his Hollywood model is designed for larger 42" screens, with integrated steel and glass storage for media and components. He's also designed and offered a symmetrical stand called the Panorama with similar features, just with a balanced layout for those who feel unnerved by the other designs. We suspect the market for asymmetrical stands must be quite small, since the majority of home theaters we've seen is expectedly dictated by our desire to balance both sight and sound.
