While walking through the basement of a discount furniture store earlier this year, we stumbled upon a brightly colored orange vanity. It was in theory meant to have a bowl sink placed on top with a sheet of glass to hold it in place, but we had other plans for it! Look! Bathroom Vanity Turned Entertainment Center
Our entertainment center has made a few guest apperances over at Apartment Therapy Chicago. Both in our curtain hanging tutorial (which made Saturday morning tv watching much easier on the eyes!) and in our dvd clutter update post.
We simply added legs from this wonderful online retailer (we were ridiculously pleased with our product, price and shipping time!) and that's it! They were easy to assemble and have built in self-levelers which are perfect for our ever so slightly sloping floor.
Our dvds live inside the doors in leather trays (at least until the husband finishes converting them!) along with any gear needed for our gaming consoles.
We never would have found it, had we of not been afraid to dig through the basement of a seemingly sketchy retailer. They were ready to get it out of their showroom along with a matching medicine cabinet (that's in the same style but a mere 6" deep) and a mirror for less than $100! It was a great score and has the possibility to evolve with our space instead of ending up on Craigslist somewhere down the road.
