Look! Floor to Ceiling Audiophile Wet Dream

102908_sz_stereowall.jpg We saw this on Flickr and didn't even know what the majority of the stereo equipment was in the photo. Naturally we had to know so we emailed Thomas and found out what he's got going on in his living room.

The silver box on the floor is a Burmester Power amplifier 911 (2x350 Watts), while the large black speaker is one of two B&W N800 speakers. The first rack above the floor holds a Panasonic HD recorder and control unit for the Pioneeer Plasma TV shown in the photo after the jump. The middle rack holds a Burmester CD player 916, Burmester preamp 808 Mk 3, Burmester Tuner 915 and Burmester analog/digital converter 950. (If you're wondering what Burmester is, it's a German hi-fi audio manufacturer). The next rack has a Transrotor Turntable "Coinisseur", CD recorder Yamaha "CDR-HD1500", Sony DAT recorder/player 77ES and a Nakamichi cassette deck "Dragon". The top shelf has a rocket shaped lava lamp.

One more photo after the jump...

You won't believe what that setup costs. Personally, audiophilia should be listed as a financially debilitating mental disorder.

Though that set up is out of many (ok, most all) folks' budgets, it shows a great way to incorporate quite a bit of decent audio equipment into a room. Nice balance to the room, nice spacing of the shelves to provide negative space. Nice inspiration for those of us who aren't into boomboxes/ipod docks.

The speaker setup is really not optimal, especially considering the amount of money that went into the system.

Those cables bundled together is a big no-no in the audio world.

Good looking shelving though.

Seriously, youngho_yoon! You spend that kind of coin on that kind of sound, you better do up the room correctly. Check that HUGE radiator directly behind the left speaker- yikes! It's like each speaker has its own climate.

But hey, maybe they just haven't gotten to it yet.

And they are smokers! Indoor smokers, no less! Oh NoooooooooooooooooooooOo!
