We spotted this at a local thrift store recently and brought it home without much thought. We were intrigued...a table with a speaker-like box and an input jack on the back. Maybe it would work as a home for our record player?

When we got it home and it opened it up, we sadly discovered there was no speaker inside. But we also realized that this table was someone's creation, one we wish we had invented ourselves. Do you have speaker furniture in your house?
Indeed I do! I just bought a lovely Widdicomb Mueller cabinet with the original speakers intact that looks a lot like this one that was posted on eBay recently (I apologize for not taking my own pics of it yet): http://tinyurl.com/2aggab. I love this piece because the big old speakers have a wonderful and warm sound AND the cabinet is awesome looking!
It's an amazing piece and I can't believe I got it for only $40 considering I saw it recently on eBay for over $500! It originally came with a Fisher stereo components but by the time I got it only the speakers were intact, which is fine with me because I prefer solid-state components over the old-school tube ones which are expensive to repair.

Monica, the second link didn't work either. I'm curious to see what you've found!

Well crappers. ;-P I posted the pic to my Flickr account but made it private...that must have been the problem. Now it's public and here's the exact link: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1367/1473242860_a6463e8fa3.jpg
Sorry about that!
