Blue is a concept fruit bowl that uses a short range wavelength to inhibit and kill bacteria. The Action Fresh Blue technology is the same type of tech found in the Halo vacuum and many new refrigerators.

The short range UV light is mutagenic to bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms, meaning it kills them or makes them sterile. This prolongs the life of your fruit. While you may think the blue ring around the bowl is the light protecting your fruit, its actually just an LED light. The protecting UV rays come from the handle-like shape above the bowl.
