Look! Wooden Beaded Electrical Cord

Here's an interesting idea posted over at AT Boston as a Hot or Not: adding large wooden beads as a decorative element to electrical cords, effectively hiding away the unsightly necessity with some colourful baubles that compliment the rest of your home, as fashioned by jewelry designer Nathalie Costes. So instead of hiding the cords and cables, show them off like an oversized pearl necklace!

Yeah...I think this is a great idea too. Especially where cords need to run up walls (to a lamp for example)....but how do you do it?

Would love to see an answer to this because I have a lot of cords that clearly need decorating!

Apt Therapy, any DIY suggestions?

This is awesome. I'm guessing the plug bit was unscrewed from the wire and the beads threaded over the end, though make sure you re-wire the plug correctly...

Very cool idea. Jesh is right but, finding a cord with an unscrewable plug may be problematical. You can buy cords and plugs at hardware store. This project is simple and brilliant!

You put the beads on a cord that does not have the end on yet. Then you wire it up. Not hard. But if you have little ones still on the floor they may lot like something to eat along with any pets. Maj
