As for the history of Bloomframe, they aren't actually all that new. They started buzzin' around blogs around 2007, but it's only now they've been able to get past mass production, selling in Holland, France, Spain, and Portugal.
Like design bloggers over at Core77 has stated, and we agree they definitely have a good point, is once you get over the "wow" factor, one starts to wonder how much use (or even benefit) a mechanical balcony could provide versus having just a regular balcony. What's the benefit of removing a balcony when not in use? It's not like we have flying cars just yet.
And we weren't blown away by the video below either (WARNING: music is rather irritating), but it does showcase how the motorized balcony works, and if you happen to love Batman devices such as hidden bookshelves, swiveling TV stands, and the like, how it can literally transform the way you live.
