Purely Anion Bulbs Claim to Light Up and Clean Up the Air

121608unplggdpurelyanion2.jpgHmm, this might be great for a small kitchen or bathroom, where the "built-in negative ion generator" in these bulbs might noticeably make a difference. Purely Anion are bulbs that claim not only the typical reduction in carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide associated with CFL use, but supposedly also removes cigarette smoke, dust, mites, animal dander and other particles from the air bygenerating over 980,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter. Yeah, we're a bit skeptical ourselves, but the premise seems interesting enough to pique our interest, as who doesn't want cleaner air at the flick of a switch. I thought negative ion generators created ozone-- and ozone was bad for us?
