Free SwedeShop iPhone App Aids Your IKEA Shopping Experience

081909swedeshopi01.jpgFinishing a walkthrough at IKEA often feels like waking up from a dream and remembering only certain parts, while other remain hazy. You remember the cool new chair, but forget which pillow complemented it a few aisles over and how much it costs. Yeah, you could make a list or snap photos (which we do), but we're more excited about using something all-in-one like SwedeShop, an iPhone app that handles photos, names, budget/price and even currency exchange while shopping at your favourite Swedish retailer...

081909swedeshopi02.jpgSwedeShop allows users to store product names, aisle/bin number or section, notes and attach photos in a list format for an easier shopping experience for iPhone users. The list also tallies up the total so you can remove extraneous items to meet a budget ("No honey, the frozen meatballs and DAIM candies are not up for debate!"), while a tax and currency calculator does the math for your shop till you dropped brain gets some rest. And you'll love the price: free!

The app is no longer free. You now have to pay 99 cents.

Yep, it's 99 cents and I think it always was.

IF you could use the camera to scan the bar code and get all the relevant info instead of entering it manually, then you might have something.

It was free at first. I tried it on my Tuesday visit to Ikea. It was so pointless I walked back to the front to pick up a golf pencil and start again.
