We've been playing around with Windows Vista Ultimate on a test system over here and it's taking us a little time to get our footing (we have XP installed on the MacBook Pro, but it's simply for gaming purposes). In the short time we've run into many of the issues that brought out criticisms about the latest Windows OS, but we're also very excited about some of the preview images and information coming out of Microsoft of Windows 7. We think we'll stick with XP for now, but wanted to see what you've got on your home setup. And be check under the jump for a bit of Windows humour...

Windows Vista. Best Windows version to date.

I use XP on my laptop and Vista on my desktop. I have never had problems with either one.

I use XP on my PC, which I only use for gaming and video files which the Mac can't play. I use OS X on the Mac. My husband has a MacBook running both OS X and Vista as well as a PC running XP. We got Vista for free (not pirated - we got it free for reviewing it). I don't think I would have paid for it though given that a low end cheap PC only cost about $100 more than a shrink-wrapped version of Vista.
Honestly, unless you're completely stupid about downloading files and opening attachments so you catch a virus, there's not a huge difference between the Mac OS and Windows except for aesthetics. Windows is actually more functional if you game or need a lot of codecs to watch video files. I prefer the Mac because I like Mail and I'm more familiar with it on the whole, but not by a huge margin. The Mac actually crashes more than my XP machine, but then it gets used for more things.

How 'bout N-O-N-E of them.
Btw, who plays games on a PC anymore. Doesn't dealing with the drivers drive you mad? Get an XBox360, the only thing Microsoft has done right.

Windows 95 was the greatest version of Windows ever created, but I use XP to keep up with the times (and only when I need to use it).
For daily use and most of my work, I use Mac OS X.
