Hey AT Home Tech Readers, we've only received a few submissions, so chances are really good you could be the person to win the Ol' Dirty Keyboard Contest and a new Apple Keyboard.
Email us a photo of your nastiest, most decrepit, and dirty keyboard, your name and email addy, and we'll choose one lucky (and filthy) winner on September 3rd. Be in it to win it!
Has anyone figured out if these'll work with Windows boxes or not?

Saw this comment in the Apple Discussions board:
"I just bought the new aluminum keyboard for my PC and it worked straightaway. Windows detected it as "Apple Keyboard" and it works perfectly fine. Maybe you got a bad keyboard? Is it detected automatically at all?"
and
I got one for my Mac Pro at home and love it so much that I got one for the PC I have to use at work. When I paid for it at the local Apple Store, I told the guy behind the counter that I intended to use it on a PC. He said it ought to work. However, the PC fails to recognize it -- there is absolutely no response when typing. I tried the built-in wizard and "add hardware" procedures, but came up with nada.
Looking through the discussions, it seems to be hit and miss as to whether it will work on a PC. The previous poster dkj104 had the best luck -- the keyboard turned up as an "Apple Keyboard" and just worked. Others are futzing with boot camp drivers, etc. with apparently inconsistent results. At least one other poster just gets response, same as me.

I'm using an older Apple USB keyboard on my PC. It works, but if I recall correctly I had to install some kind of custom driver or keymap for it. Google something like "Apple keyboard Windows XP drivers" and see what comes up. Somewhere in the results should be your answer.
Love the look of the new Apple keyboard, but detest the feel and find it hard to orient my hands atop those flat featureless keys.

Yeah, I think people fall under two camps with the new keyboard. I swore I'd be amongst the naysayers, but somehow I've acclimated well to typing with the new Apple Keyboard. I'm currently typing on the previous version right now and it feels too sticky after using the responsive newer version. Differn't strokes for differn't folks :)
