Moldable Tripod Sticks to Anything

073109_sz_monsterpod_camera.jpg We live in a small space. Yes, it's considered a large studio, but believe us, the space is small. Trying to photograph our own interior to show off to Apartment Therapy readers is close to impossible.

We're sure you've been in the same position: trying to get as wide of a shot as possible, pulling your camera out as much as possible, maybe even cramming it against the wall and blindly shooting; hoping you don't end up with a blurry and cropped shot. If only we could tack our shooter up on the wall, or wrap it around a curtain rod for a bird's eye style view.

Hey, we can!

073109_sz_monsterpod.jpg The Monsterpod uses Viscoelastic Polymer to stick this tripod onto anything. VP has been used by 3M to dampen the vibrations in hard drives, but it's also proved to be a stellar adhesive that can be peeled off without damaging the surface it was on.

Photojojo.com says: "We tried this thing on brick walls, trees, marble, cement, steel, sheet rock, wire fences, metal poles, plate glass windows, upside down, in the heat, in the cold, on furniture, street lamps, and on a car. It sticks to over 1,000 things, and it's the closest thing to magic we've seen.

The Monsterpod can hold up any camera that's no more than 20 ounces. The $30 stickypod is moldable, so you can mash it just so to attach it to any shape surface. It'll hold its position for 1-10 minutes.

This makes my heart pound, and not in a good way. But the price is not unreasonable, so I might give it a try.

the reviews of this product on amazon have been pretty bad. complaints of it falling off the wall with the camera, you cant use it on vertical walls, only walls with slants. when you remove this from the wall, it peels off paint? leaves orange residue?

they have one our for playing with at the camera shop a block from me. not a fan. really doesn't seem like it would work good. I have seen product shots where it is stuck to the bark of a rough tree...yeah that will make it sticky forever...with tree bark in it...yeah right.

stick with a gorillapod. i know it doesn't "stick" to things, but it actually works.

plus the example used in the description doesn't make sense. What is the difference between sitcking this on the wall and shooting blindly and just holding it against a wall an shooting blindly.

Plus if you really needed a steady shot in that scenario, i would suggest just using a tripod, and making 1 leg shorter so it slants right up against the wall.

done and done.

I don't get it, do you get three of them? How is this a tripod?

And unplugged quoting the pitch, tacky.
