News: Are Your Pants Down As You're Reading this Post?

102408_tf_toiletsurf.jpgThis news is coming from the UK, but if our ex-boyfriend's habits are any indication, it's still a stateside trend: 10 percent of web browsers have logged on to their laptops during visits to the toilet, either at home or at work, according to a survey by UK internet provider, PlusNet. Even though we're extra grossed out by the "...or at work" part (Does your boss notice you taking your MacBook to the loo, Brits?), we've got to applaud the effort to multi-task. What other non-desk locations are a favorite for browsing the Web? We've got the rest of the survey and a chance for you guys to comment after the jump...

In addition to the 10 percent that love to surf on the toilet, 35 percent of people in the survey have admitted going online while in bed as an alternative to the traditional bedtime read (And we know that one's true, Unplggd's already asked you if you plug in before bed.)

The favorite place to log on is the living room with 40 percent, with the office/study coming in at just 20 percent.

We should probably mention that the survey found 85 percent of Web surfers have Wi-Fi access. We hope that the 10 percent of potty readers are included in that 85 percent, otherwise some embarassed and bare-assed people have actually taken the time to run an Ethernet cord to their washroom.

Are you brave enough to admit that you're toilet surfing right now, Unplgg'r? Where are you checking us out from right now? Do you wish you could do more bathroom multi-tasking? Maybe you need Washup, the clothes-washing toilet.

If you'd like to read the entire press release, click here to go to UK phone and internet provider PlusNet's site.

Okies, I'm going to be bold and stupid.

My notebook comes with me to the bathroom, I have a little table in there with a speaker on it, it plays music while i'm showering.

Its just wonderful.

I get the music on while you shower - but to have it in your lap as you're...utilizing the facilities? EEWWWWWW

I do a lot of my web surfing on the couch - if I have my laptop set up on a table or desk, my cat gets on it and won't get out of my face.

I occasionally do my surfing in bed, but only on very cold winter nights when even the couch isn't warm enough. But the BATHROOM?! Never.

Too funny...but you know, I would do it if I had a laptop!!! Until then, I guess the two will be separated....

Huh? Why else would I have blown 1,800 bucks on a MacBook Air?

Yes, the laptop has accompanied me to the toilet...gatta catch up on my Google Reader. Although NEVER at work...how do you even pull that one off? I've also set up my laptop while taking a bath...nothing like watching hulu and taking a hot bubble bath!

If I'm using my laptop and then I have to get up to use the bathroom, it comes with me and I don't think twice about it.

I never take my MacBook to the bathroom with me, but iPhone beats a toilet-side magazine rack any day.
