Senate Bill 362. This is the bill that makes it illegal for employers to require their employees to have RFID chips implanted in their skin. It is disturbing to think that this is a real issue that needed to be addressed, but sadly it seems that it is. If caught, employers face an initial fine of $10,000 and $1,000 for every day after that should the RFID chip remains implanted. Anyone ever see the movie
Gattaca?
What do these do? How can an employer compel someone to have one put in? That's all kinds of crazy.

They track your movements if you're within a certain (short) range of a sensor. Businesses already put them on name badges.
There's currently no sensible reason to implant them at a workplace that doesn't have ultra-serious security issues, as your employer's equipment wouldn't track you when you're off company grounds (the range really is short) and a good badge system takes care of your movements when you're at work.

I don't see the need for the skin implant either, but RFID on a badge seems reasonable enough.
Seems like these implants are kind of permanent...last I heard there were no 'lifetime jobs' out there.

If an employer ever suggested such a thing I'd tell them to go walk the f'ing plank & I'd help push them off rfid & all;)
