Here is an excuse to buy a PS3. In the rush to compete with HD-DVD, currently available stand alone Blu-ray players were released without the ability to play future profile Blu-ray discs.

Basically this means that upcoming Profile 1.1 discs, which include special bonus material and Profile 2.0 discs which include internet connectivity will only be available if you ditch your early adopted stand alone Blu-ray player. Maybe "good things come to those who wait" really is true.
