Apple and AT&T have finally set a date. On June 29th we can witness the birth of the iPhone.
After much speculation, the recent ads posted by Apple confirm a late June product release. We were as excited as everyone else to learn about the iPhone, but to be honest we're a bit over its high price tag and single cell phone provider. Anyone out there plan on getting one?
I'd like to think that I won't be getting one, but who (whom?) am I kidding?

I plan on waiting 6 months - 1 year to see if there are any bugs/big complaints and then decide if it's worth it.

Yeah who was I kidding too when i thought I'd just stop by the new at&t store the other day to check out the trial aspects of their plans. less than 5 minutes later and I'm on the wait list.

Pixie, put a after the word(s) you want italicized. That stops the italics.

After months of persuasion, I finally convinced my girlfriend that it would be a wise investment for me to purchase the new Palm Treo 680...right before the iphone was announced. So I don't think I'm going to get the green light for the iphone - as much as I would LOVE one.

Although I'm sure if you are willing to spend 1-2k on Ebay, one can be had without having to camp in front of a store for a week.
I would be interested in getting one but only after a few solid hands-on reviews pop up. This probably means that I won't get one for 6-8 months, since I'm sure they will be hard to find for the first 2-3 months.
That said, I'm hoping that this causes other phones to go on the cheap! >:]

I will get one when there is either a "speedbump" or a new iteration. I would normally just jump in but I'm focusing on getting other parts of my system i.e entertainment system, dialed in.

my VZW contract doesn't end until March, so I'll be waiting until then. I figure this gives them enough time to work out the bugs and come out with a newer, cheaper, bigger hard drive model, as they always do within 6 months.
