News: Polaroid to Stop Making Film

2008-2-11-polaroidpic.jpgGoodbye Polaroid pictures, well at least with film manufactured by Polaroid. The company announced recently, that they will no longer be manufacturing the instant film that made their brand famous.

From what we've read, this move wasn't a financial decision, but an attempt at re-branding. In this digital age, Polaroid wants to prevent itself from becoming outdated and compete alongside modern day camera companies. We'd guess the Zink ink-less printer is what they're hoping to become their product for the new millennium.

But, if you're a vintage fan, you don't need to start stockpiling film. Fuji will still make what many call a superior film and you can pick some up at B&H.

Does anyone know if the Fuji film will work in our vintage SX-70?

I don't think they make film for the sx-70, but I'll have to do a bit more research. It looks like a company out of the netherlands is making sx-70 film(so says the wiki page), but I could be wrong.
I just ordered some fuji pack film for my 2 Polaroid Land Cameras (a 250 and 440), so we'll see how well they work.
