News: Xbox 360 To Be Given Netflix Streaming Ability

071508_an_xbox_netflix.jpgAt Microsoft's press conference at this year's E3, the company sounds like they have teamed up with the boys at Netflix to deliver instantaneous movie downloads via online queues right to your television. Sounds like a smart move, definitely, but we do wonder about the quality and bandwidth issues for real time streaming. If they get it right, however, say good-bye to DVD's and Bluray rentals (given Netflix releases high definition downloads too).

"The arrangement Microsoft Corp. announced Monday at the E3 Media & Business Summit in Los Angeles will give Netflix's 8 million subscribers another way to stream movies on a TV instead of a computer."

Super Sweet!

No more wondering if I should go buy an AppleTV, and pay Apple's rental fee's.

Now I can use my netflix account or rent from XBox Live marketplace.

One more nail in the Blockbuster's coffin.

Xbox live's current delivery system is really solid... despite the movie selection being geared to 13-17 year olds! This is excellent news!
