From the tipsters that brought you the wireless iTunes store before it debuted, this new rumor might just rock your socks. Apparently, Apple's making huge plans to take over that little tablet PC niche by storm with a brand new line of Macbooks with a full touchscreen covered in that lovable scratch resistant iPhone glass. If they do this right, I might just have to grab one for my kitchen to look up recipes...
Rumor Mill: New Macbook Touch Coming Soon?
"Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion's haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at "low" price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick shit. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest."

Did anyone else just hear angels singing?

THIS might just get me to switch from my oh-so-comfortable MS ways.
I don't want a cell phone that works like a computer. I want a computer that's (almost) as portable as a cell phone. If I have the ability to carry around 160 Gigs of music, movies, pictures, files, etc.; then I want to be able to look/watch on a screen that's bigger than an index card. If I have the ability to carry the entire internet with me, then I want to be able to see the entire internet, not just parts of some pages and/or the pared-down "mobile" pages. I want it all.

Well, the rumor will at least tone down my want of an iPhone...I'd much rather have something like this!
But really, these rumors have been floating around in one way or another for the past year. I'd like to get my hopes up but I'm just taking it with a grain of salt for now.

This is what I've been waiting years for. I have no desire to have an iPhone, but for this I would wait in a long line. Then again, I have a policy for waiting till at least the second gen on apple products. For now I just won't get my hopes up.
