It's Gizmodo's rendering of what appears to be the real deal, because Apple's lawyers are were over their original post of a leaked photo, so Gizmodo created their own rendering, seen above.
What do you think of the short, fat design?? A video screen would be a really nice addition, but at what cost?
while engadget and gizmodo are claiming that this is the new ipod, it seems to me that the design doesn't follow the apple style. I dunno, could be wrong...we'll see on Sept. 5th (if that date holds any weight).

Like me, iPods have become chunkier w/age. And while the photo is a possible reason why Apple has issued cease and desist letters, the photo originally posted showed a Beatles album in the screen. It may be that Apple wants to keep their agreement to have the Beatles on iTunes is a reason for their actions.
