Need some help! A few months ago I purchased a new surge protecter for my new apple comp. Right now the old surge protecter which we have had for a few years is connected.
After last nights thunderstorms here all I kept thinking was the stupid transmitter down the street which always blows and losing power.
My question to you all is can I simply unplug my computer, printer, ipod hifi, and phone as well as my cable modem without causing harm to any of my equipment? This may sound silly to you but I am clueless when it comes to any electrical stuff (instructions and all) no lie. If anyone out there can help me out I'd really appreciate it!

You can unplug everything but your computer without any damage. You ought to shut down the computer before unplugging it to avoid damage to your hard drive.

I have what I thought was a secure wireless connection. But when using it the computer slows to a snail's pace. It's fine when I use the wired connection, however. So is someone piggybacking on my wireless and if so, how? I thought it was a secured connection. After all, verizon tech support helped me configure it.

Anne,
If you use a wireless router to connect, you should be able to access its interface with a web browser and there should be a section where you can view clients connected wirelessly. If you only have one wireless computer and there is more than one client.......
