My mac (powerbook, tiger) is so much slower than when it was new 3 years ago. I've tried the easy tricks I know to fix any problems, but waaay too often these days I get the spinning beachball of death. Should I reimage it--and how--or what should I do?

Pixie, I had the same problem about 6 months ago. Although my powerbook was a few years older. Everything just took way too long, after trying all the usual tricks I came to the conclusion that the internet had outgrown my Mac and I needed a new one.

Mine's only 3 years old - the internet can't possibly have outgrown mine. Plus, the same thing's happening to my father's mac mini, which is only a year old. I think computer's just started piling up little things that periodically need a clean sweep beyond maintenance. Or so I've read.

Here are some things I tried before giving up.
Good luck!
