Tech Tip: Router Settings Cheat Sheet

2007-06-10routerconf.jpgHow do you keep track of your router settings? We hate when we need to remember our ip address or some other password. It always escapes us. Despite the numerous times we've had to make a change to our home network, we reinvent the wheel every time in an attempt to remember all of this information.

Until now...Creative Techs made this great cheat sheet and a downloadable pdf for you to record all of those complicated numbers you can never seem to remember. Print it, spend a few minutes filling it out, and then take their advice and tape it underneath your router. The next time you need to make a change to your setup, it will have gotten one step easier.

There are multiple applications for both Mac OS X and Windows that securely store passwords, serial numbers, and other important sensitive data. I suppose paper would work too, but it is easier to lose a pice of paper, and paper is not encrypted.

OS X:
Keychain come with the OS.
Yojimbo stores all sorts of info.

Windows:
(I am not a windows user but here are a few anyway)
