Where's My Cellphone?: Online Cellphone Locator

2008_08_19 wheres my cell.gifThis could be extremely useful or completely useless depending on your phone situation at home. Losing the cell phone in between the sofa cushions is definitely not a new situation for us. How do we find it? Pick up the land line phone and call it. But what if you don't have a landline and your cellphone is also the landline?

You either tear your house apart looking for it, or if you have an internet connection you use wheresmycellphone.com. Type in your number and wait for your phone to ring. We tried it out and it works just fine. You can even add it to your iGoogle page if you are a chronic phone misplacer.

Hi - Love your site. But, for me, WHERESMYCELLPHONE.COM is not neccessary. It may not be for many people because if you are computer literate or a teenage girl, chances are you probably have AOL Instant Messenger (AIM).

I am notorious for misplacing my phone and I was told a couple years ago that if you send an IM to your phone using this formula, you will get the text.

1 (your number)
Please note, you do have to actually type the " "
so, example
12128675309
If you want, that is Jenny's number. I got it off the wall.

Also, this comes in handy if you want to text someone and its more convenient to do so from the comfort of your computer than from your phone. Hope this helps. For those who don't have AIM, either get it or use WHERESMYCELLPHONE.COM

If so inclined -

my website is www.danieldannydan.com

please note that in between the " " above is supposed to be the universal addition symbol (the one that shares the same key on your keyboard with the equal sign) and this site won't display the symbol.

So, again, to send yourself a text to your cellphone, try the (plus sign) 1 (your phone number)
