Dreyfuss 500 Desk Phone

2007-06-28dreyfuss500deskphone.jpgInstead of hyping the iPhone, we'd rather look to the past for inspiration. We might consider hooking up our regular old landline just so this could sit on our desk.

The Dreyfuss 500 Desk Phone takes you back to the days of the rotary dial, without having to wait for the dial. Although we admit, nostaligically, we kinda wish the dial did work. This version has all the features of a modern-day phone (including push buttons), but all the styling of the 1950s.

Totally reminds us of our parent's old kitchen phone with the cord that stretched for miles. If you're feeling a bit nostalgic for the days of actually being corded to the phone, either one of these would fit the bill. Some claim to have better phone conversations, without all of the distractions.

Both are available here for $69.95.

These phones are very classy but unfortunately I only have a cell phone now.

I love these phones!!!!! I don't know why anyone would buy an iphone (or any other new gadget) until it has been out for a year. I don't want to pay premium price for the honor of working out the bugs!

If you'd grown up using dial phones, I guarantee you wouldn't miss them.

Target has been doing a faux-rotary phone for a couple years for about $30.

We switched back to a corded phone because the charge on a cordless phone doesn't stretch to two-hour-plus phone calls.
