AT:Home Tech reader Thisbmine is ready to buy the Nokia E90 Communicator as soon as it comes out, sometime mid-2007. With a price tag of nearly $1000 before any rebates, it seems like a pretty hefty tag to pay for a phone...but it's much more like a micro-computer than "just a phone."
It does all of the expected, with a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash plus an additional camera for video chat, quad-band GSM, WiFi, and HSDPA radio. It also has "Quickoffice," which allows the user to view and edit Microsoft Office files, as well as work with PDFs and Zip files. The E90 also comes with GPS and navigation software, though the latter could add up to hefty usage charges.
One drawback for those of us in the States is that the E90 will only work with the 2100 MHz band in the US and some other countries, limiting its 3G use.

Eh, I can't say I've been impressed with the Nokia Communicator series... And keep in mind that megapixels dont' mean crap when phones are still using cheap CCDs (the chip that captures the image). I think SE is finally using ok ones, and Samsung too, though that might be in their non US models.
