Flipping through Domino the other day, we came across an advertisement for Panasonic's Talking Phones. Talking Phones? Yeah, we too were wondering what this so-called "new" technology could be.
A quick trip over to their promotional site showed that these phones do indeed talk to you. They read you the name or number of who is calling, in that annoying robotic phone voice. We guess this could be useful, if you still had a landline or couldn't be bothered to get up and look to see who's calling. So 1996!

My parents gave us an older version of these phones when I moved in with my husband. The talking caller ID is sometimes annoying, sometimes creepy, and sometimes hilarious. We mostly use our cell phones anyway, so not a lot of people call us at home, but the mispronunciations the machine makes sometimes crack me up.
