Stand-Up Brit, 1950s Ericofon, Flies to the States

The Ericofon was introduced in Europe in the mid 1950s. The unique upright talker was smaller and lighter than anything seen before. In 1973 it was selected to be part of the New York Museum of Modern Art's Collection.

Up until now it looks like the Scandiphone was only available in the U.K. This year Keena brings it to the states. We took some snapshots of the groovy phone during the New York International Gift Fair...

I purchased an original reconditioned Ericofon to use as my emergency landline phone. Five days without power after an ice storm that also affected cell towers convinced me of its necessity. It's my bedroom phone and I absolutely love it.
