Bird-Electron iPod Box Speaker

2008-1-23ipodrecycle.jpgLooking for a cheap and easy iPod speaker? Bird-Electron has created a speaker kit that allows to reuse Apple's plastic packaging and create a simple, yet stylish, speaker.

2008-1-23bottlespeaker.jpgSimply pop the speaker panel into the box, plug in your iPod, and you're good to go. Any container will work if you've already disposed of your box, including a water bottle as pictured here. The speaker box is made by the Japanese company, Bird-Electron, but AudioCubes carries the kits for $40.

But how does it sound? Vibrating water bottle? I'm skeptical of how well that'll go.

$40? You can get all these parts from RadShack for less than $10 and have enough change left over to buy some heatsink grease.
