The Apple Remote: It’s Not What You Think

Another incoming concept courtesy of Taryn. This time, we have a Wii-like remote control in the shape of an apple.
SonyApplesBowl.jpgThese little beauties are a dream concept from a budding designer at Yanko Design. Although these are obviously nowhere near production (and not affiliated with Sony BRAVIA), we can see this set of personal universal remote controls would fit right in as the centerpiece of our coffee table…

SonyAppleInfo.jpgJason Roebuck’s concept reads: “Works with any digital television and DVD player. All the basic functions are controlled by the movements of the apple. The more advanced functions can be accessed through the simple on-screen menu.”

According to the designer, if apples are placed in their bowl, the remote control charges. You can program your own functions to suit your needs, and each person in your household can program their own apple remote, each in a slightly different shade of green. Best of all, they’d be motion sensitive. Rotating the apple left or right lowers or raises the volume of your TV.

We only wish we knew they might really be here one day.

Huh? What? Is this something I have to learn to use?
