Roundup: 5 Clever Reuses For Your G4 Cube

093008_an_g4cube_ideas.jpgSeeing how people are starting to dig up that iconic Power Mac G4 cube and reuse them for all sorts of personal pleasures, we believe a roundup is in order. Here's a few things you can do with that amazing acrylic box in case it blows up (or has already blown up, taking up room in your closet).

093008_an_g4cube_tissue.jpgTurn it into a tissue box.

093008_an_g4cube_aquarium.jpgTurn it into an aquarium.

093008_an_g4cube_mini.jpgUse it to hold your Mac Mini, external hard drives, and Airport Extreme.

093008_an_g4cube_pc.jpgTurn it into a custom computer with built-in LCD.

093008_an_g4cube_lamp.jpgTurn it into a modern hanging lamp. The above picture is actually the Ice Cube Lamp, but it looks almost exactly like the G4 cube hanging from a wire - a simple DIY should do the trick.

The tissue box idea is pretty cool except that the Kleenex box peeking out from the bottom spoils the effect. Maybe someone can rig a way to keep it out of view.

Wow! These are great uses for the mostly-forgotten Cube. I really like how they were able to stuff a Macintosh Classic II into one of them. I had always seen people putting newer tech into vintage cases, never the reverse. It's pure awesomeness!

Wait! I just noticed that the box used for the Mac Classic is not the G4 Cube! It's just a custom acrylic box. It's still cool looking, though.
