Back in October, we presented a roundup of the perfect IKEA media storage solution, the IKEA PS media cabinet. Even now, we can't seem to find a contender that offers such a good price, flexibility in usage, and looks that seem as versatile as the things it's used for. So with a little help from Desire to Inspire, we've come up with a second roundup of wonderful IKEA PS ideas to use around the home office...

My problem with the PS is that, for a media center, how do you use it with the components and remotes? Theoretically it could "go" through the vents, but it definitely does not work that way. My friend has the PS and just has to keep the doors open when she's watching TV.

I have one in white and love it. Perfect for storing dvd's and the top is great for plants or lighting (or a tv smaller and lighter than mine).
Wish there was an option, other than the locks on the doors with keys left in, so you can open them. Would love a knob with magnet combo that would keep the doors closed or a handle substitute. Or a door that flips up and slides inside out of the way.
I find this with a lot of Ikea stuff. It's great....almost. Always one little thing holding the product back from being perfect.

I have a PS as my media cabinet and keep the doors shut all the time. its easy, just by an IR repeater which will sit discretely underneath your TV and will allow you to use cable, DVD Amp etc. Obviously if you have a PS3 or PC you can play surf internet through the doors using bluetooth. As for the locks, can't help you i actually like the look of the keys in it
