Fire Design Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers are obviously an essential element in every home, but so often they are a necessary evil in terms of design- that little red canister has never done anything to enhance our decor. Imagine our delight then to discover these fabulous alternatives to traditional fire extinguishers...

Unfortunately, our high school French has degenerated to the point of "here is the pen of the neighbor of my aunt" so we can't really share much more than the link to the Fire Design website itself. We love the feature that allows you to design your own fire extinguisher (though we can't tell if that is a production option). The plain colors are 65 euro while our favorite yellow and black I Love New York design will cost you 95 euro.

We haven't been able to find any information about U.S. distribution which is a crying shame. We certainly hope these fun products make it across the pond someday soon.

e. scott you hang it on the wall like art or simply leave it on the counter near a possible fire hazard like your stove. The same place you would put a plain extinguisher.

Part of the fire extinguisher being red is the universal recognition of it in an emergency. Every country I've been to has used red for the vast majority of fire extinguishers in public places/hotels/schools etc.

While fun, these designs could be anything from water bottles to oxygen tanks at first glance or just not even grabbing your attention at all when there are flames in front of you (or your guests who are unfamiliar with your kitchen)
