35-H Lounger Chair Looks Better Than Herman Miller's Embody

121708_rg_35hloungerbysofia_01.jpgEveryone needs a seat. We all know this. However, most of us are content with cheap chairs. Those of you who've spent a lot of time in chairs in front of computers know that a good chair is necessary. Our test lab has shown that the Herman Miller Embody chair is one of the best chairs available. Now what do you get when you take an Embody chair and transform it into a lounge chair? You get the 35-H Lounger chair from Frédéric Sofia.

100608_rg_embody_front.jpgWe've recently tested the Herman Miller Embody chair in our test lab. It's one fine piece of seating that your back will thank you for. We strongly recommended it.

121708_rg_35hloungerbysofia_02.jpgThe 35-H Lounger is a high-tech aluminum chair adjusted by a cushion of air. The chair is simply gorgeous, with it's clean and sleek lines. Designer Frédéric Sofia created this chair for Ligne Roset. It's definitely a chair out of science-fiction. Usually, a chair like this has an assortment of adjustment handles underneath, but Sofia opted to fit the controls on the armrests themselves, keeping the undercarriage stark and clean. Overall, it might look simplistic, but the chair uses four pneumatic jacks to keep your body in perfect alignment at all times.

121708_rg_35hloungerbysofia_03.jpgThe chair looks great, but the only question that we have is how much will it cost? The Embody chair already costs $1600. We know that this chair will most probably retail for higher. Still, it's a beautiful and comfortable object to have in your living room, right next to the HDTV and the home theater system. I'm sorry, but it reminds me too much of my dentist's chair. Sitting in that chair twice a year is enough for me

It does look like a cross between a dentist's chair and an airline seat, but I like the cleanness of it. I'd like to see it in red.

It looks nice but it doesn't appear to be as adjustable as the Embody is claiming to be.

Still, I can't imagine it really being worth as much as these uber expensive chairs cost. I sit on my ass all day in sub-$100 chair and I'm not complaining.
