Archos: TV+ Is Part Set-Top Box, Part WiFi DVR

In comes the Archos TV+, an all-in-one media player that allows web surfing, e-mail checking, streaming of online videos, and digital video recording capabilities at your fingertips. It looks like Tivo just met one mean adversary.

Video playback supports MPEG-4 (ASP@L5 AVI, up to DVD resolution), WMV (MP@ML, up to DVD resolution), with optional software plug-ins, podcast plug-in: H.264 up to DVD resolution and AAC sound, cinema Plug-in: MPEG-2 MP@ML up to 10 Mbps (up to DVD resolution) and AC3 stereo sound, and stereo MP3 playback. It can even read PDF's.

But how does it record? Is there a worthy user interface? Is the downloadable program information, and how does that work? If the title reads "DVR" there should be info in your article. It seems that this is not a hands on review, which means that you could of just posted a link to their press release and call it done.

Sadly it only supports 802.11g. I've experienced pretty poor performance streaming HD content over g. I been looking for a product just like this that supports 802.11n. Guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer.
