Dog Ear: West Elm's Latest Goodies

060308_sz_westelmconsole.jpgWhile perusing West Elm's latest catalog we found some mod TV solutions, as well as a few Herman Miller inspired pieces.

Added bonus, some finds are on sale! 060308_sz_wecollection.jpg

First up is the store's Rolling Storage in its 4x1 configuration (pictured above), on sale for $230. A large screen TV and a pair of speakers on either side could easily fit on top of the console. Question is, can your peripherals fit in the cubbies? If they can this would be ideal for rooms where you want the option of rolling your entertainment around (it comes with optional wheels).

The designers at West Elm somehow predicted that acorn and white wood would be the it items this year, so they made a media stand to match Herman Miller's Airia desk and even looks better than Miller's matching cab). According to the Elm, this piece can accommodate a 32-inch tube or 37-inch flat screen TV, as well as DVD and cable boxes. It's on sale for $240.060308_sz_westelmmillercab.jpg

If you don't want to pay $2K on the Herman Miller Airia desk, you can opt for this $800 Framed Secretary.060308_sz_wesecretary.jpg

And lastly, the $500 Clifton Media Console, your basic stand for your components and TV, but with both drawers and cabinets.060308_sz_weconsolebrown.jpg

don't mean to sound like a broken record, but... for those who have never seen west elm up front and personal and are thinking about ordering furniture, be warned that quality may be an issue. these cautionary words are not intended to slam anyone - it's just been surprising to compare the website images with store experiences.
