There are very few cd racks out there that actually look good. Sure, there are options such as the Duoplane CD Shelves but these can still take up quite a bit of space especially if you have a large CD collection. Assuming that you still regularly use those cd's and have not made the transition to a streaming solution such as Apple TV then the BlueDot Divita might be worth a look. Essentially a dvd/ cd storage tower, it does away with the space consuming jewel cases and stores up to 100 discs. The 1.8" display and number pad are your means of accessing and organizing your discs....as long as nothing goes wrong with the internal mechanism.

$500 just seems so excessive. If you plan on doing away with the jewelcases, why not just invest in a large CD wallet for $20-30? I've seen them with stainless steel outer shells, wood, plastic, etc... Just stack them on a bookshelf.
