We're still weeding through the countless photos and brochures we gathered at CES, this time spotlighting a bit of home organization for your gaming needs. Game On primarily designs video game peripheral organization solutions aimed at the teen/early 20's market, but we were impressed with their newest Wii friendly wall mounted Gear Boards shown above.
The Game On Gear Board us spring loaded J hooks in with a wall-mounted system to maximize space for Wii owners, holding tennis rackets, gaming pistols, yoga mats, towels or anything with a strap; 2- U shaped hooks hold gaming guitars and controllers, while O shaped hooks (sold separately) hold tennis rackets and light sabers controllers. Those of you into Wii Fit can also add a storage adapter for the Wii Fit board. A smaller Gear Board Lite offers similar options, but obviously on a smaller scale.
Both the Gear Board and the Gear Board Lite's spring loaded system worked well, making it nearly a game in itself to shift and situate peripherals. The white Wii-complementary finish looked just right with all the peripherals and we liked the idea of wall mounting for space saving solutions. Of course, we'd prefer something like this in a dedicated gamer's room or bedroom rather than out in the living room, since admittedly having all your controllers up on the wall result in a retailer effect; not necessarily bad, but not a decor scheme we'd be going for overall.
i like the idea, but it looks a little too juvenile for my tastes. maybe if it were made of wood, or had some other color options?
